Traditional car washing does not only consume large amounts of water, energy and chemicals, the actual driving to the car wash results in huge emissions. And this becomes extra troublesome for a mobility provider for example a food delivery service or a car rental. Whoshapp was founded in Stockholm by Jens Karlsson, now sales manager and former hockey pro Mark Owuya, CTO, with visionary ideas to revolutionize the car wash industry.

We use environmentally friendly nano formula and microfiber cloths, much less water and finally – our car washers will come to you. On a bike. We are going to your car. The by hand process that we use makes your car keep clean longer. We have looked at the whole process and reduced everything that we can to make the car wash more sustainable, says Kujtim Salihu, CEO of Whoshapp.

In a typical car wash, 250 liters of water are used, and a Whoshapp wash will use around a 0.5 liter. The saving of water with the by hand washing has high effects on the environment. Cloths are given to a washer that can separate out the fat and oils from traffic. The services may be booked on demand or by subsciption.

And what better is, in the process we employ 70 people – people who had not had a job otherwise, like young people. We gives them a very good education on how to do this, how to work and where to go and when.

Each year in Sweden, 40 million car washes are made meaning 40 million extra rides with the car to the cleaning station, on average 14 kilometers long. At present Whoshapp is mainly available in the Swedish market, and in Copenhagen, but the international potential is high.

Our investors are Bonnier, CSB Capital, and we have been living on VC capital. As we are now both sustainable and profitable, we are looking at new types of investors now to expand internationally” says Kujtim Salihu.
