Alight’s Business idea is to develop, build, own and operate solar installations and sell green, subsidy free, predictable and cost-efficient solar power through long term Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) to large corporations who wants to save money and become more sustainable.

About Alight

Founded in 2013 Alight is a Swedish solar energy company. We are the leading solar PPA provider in the Nordics. We are committed to helping large corporations in Europe to save money and do good through sustainable solar technology. Our uniqueness that our clients find valuable is that we are 100% dedicated to master solar power and supply in a repeatable and cost-efficient way.

Alight is co-founded, co-owned and managed by a team of 28 professionals with deep understanding and track record from the solar energy sector. With ~50 PPAs / 40 MWs under management Alight is a frontrunner in solar PPAs.

Currently we are developing more than 700 MW of PPA-based onsite (rooftop, parking lot, etc.) or offsite (solar parks) across Europe. Our goal is to reach at least 1 GW of solar PPA contracts by 2025.

Alight is developing new products and product enhancements to boost savings and increase value from existing and future installations. More data-driven decisions will make it possible to synchronize production with weather forecasts, better balance the power demand/consumption curve, and let a storage system itself decide how much power to store — and when.

Our financing strategy is based on setting up independent Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for each solar installation. The SPVs are owned and financed through our subsidiary Alight II, with equity provided by Alight and our project financing partner Infranode, a long-term infrastructure owner financed by Nordic pension funds as well as the European Investment Bank.

Solar power together with storage, saving money for corporates and making them more sustainable, will fundamentally redefine the global energy landscape in the years to come. This transition represents an opportunity for specialised fast movers with deep understanding in technologies such as solar, storage, digitalization and smart microgrids, to become the future giants in power production and supply. Alight intend to lead this development and, building on our core competencies, be in the middle of this transition.
