Cleantech investor tours, speed matchmaking, a showcase of solutions, targeted scale-up content, and even a whimsical train ride at the Pippi Longstocking museum? All these innovative (and inspired) additions and more are coming to this year’s edition of Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day (SSVD) to be held on October 9th -10th in Stockholm.

Established in 2018 by the Swedish Energy Agency, SSVD initially served as an exclusive event connecting Swedish investors with local cleantech companies. Now, six editions later, the Swedish Energy Agency (SEA) aims to broaden its scope and, consequently, the broaden the impact of groundbreaking Swedish cleantech companies. Seeking to reinvigorate the event and attract more international investors, SEA has partnered with Magnus Agerström, director of Cleantech Scandinavia (CTS). This collaboration is ideal, as CTS is dedicated to promoting cleantech companies in the Nordics and Baltics through matchmaking, accelerator programs, and various investor-startup collaboration events.

Agerström, who has been a speaker at the event for the past two years and has previously collaborated with SEA, now leads the effort to infuse new vision and energy into this exclusive gathering of investors and innovators. To ensure institutional memory, resource availability, and a clear vision, the SEA has also formed an advisory board comprising key players in the Nordic cleantech sector and past SSVD editions.

This, now two-day, event encourages investors to experience company labs/productions firsthand and arrange same-day meetings with innovators via an integrated matchmaking app. Selected scale-up founders will have the opportunity to showcase their products and present investment cases. Additionally, panels and keynotes will address topics ranging from the need for scale-up capital to boosting flexibility makers. Curated side events and a relaxed evening mingle with light fare at the Junibacken museum in Stockholm will further enhance the experience—all with the primary goal of showcasing Sweden as a hub for sustainable innovation and investment.

All said, SSVD 2024 promises to be a lively and impactful event through showcasing Sweden’s sustainable best-of-the-best. For more information on this year’s edition, including speakers, registration, and program, please visit https://swedensustaintech.com/ .
