Trine

Trine was founded in 2015 by Sam Manaberi, Christoffer Falsen, Andreas Lehner, and Christian Genne, with the mission to make the world better by making it easy for people to invest in innovative businesses with impact at their core.

Over one billion people in the world live without access to electricity, forcing them to use toxic and environmentally damaging fossil fuels. There are companies working across the world to introduce renewable energy as a cleaner, healthier alternative, but they face huge upfront costs. Trine bridges the financing gap to provide these companies with the finance they need to make renewables the fuel of the future.

The first loan was launched as a pilot during the autumn of 2015, through the already established site FundedByMe. After a successful launch, Trine raised a seed round of 5 million SEK in early 2016 and went live with their own investment platform (trine.com) in 2016.

Today, Trine has over 11,000 investors across Europe and 28 borrowers operating in 16 different countries. More than 2.4 million people have gained access to electricity and 300 000 tons of CO2 have been avoided.
