ECONANS: Perfect timing for data on green loan stocks

Sometimes, timing is just perfect. We mest with Tobias Lewandowski, one of two founders of ECONANS, chosen to present at the 2023 Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day. He tells us about how their company just found themselves in a superhot segment that banks and real estate companies are just urged to go for, as much based on consumer demand as on new EU regulations.

Besides concerns for the climate change, there is a further push based on the energy crisis to cut down on both interest rates and energy costs. Banks must be able to report and analyze their loan stocks in terms of climate effect and sustainability. ECONANS just happens to have an advanced AI system that collects data, as well as feedbacks for improvements.

Both consumers and companies need to know how to come down on their cost for interest rates and energy. ECONANS vast data source is very attractive. The fact is that as a borrower, you can come down considerably in interest rates if you can prove that your energy spendings are in classes A and B.

EU rules are actually quite similar all over Europe meaning that we will have good conditions for scaling our business quite fast. Our plan is definetively to continue out in Europe, says Tobias.

ECONANS is already available for SEB clients, and soon new bank co-operations will be presented in both Sweden and the rest of the Nordic regions. Last year, ECONANS won the Master Card Lighthouse innovation Program for the Nordics and the Baltics, and they will be competing in the world finals during this year.
