The fifth annual Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day will be held at Scandic Continental, on May 31, 2023

To give the 2023 annual Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day an international touch, the event is this year held on the 31st of May, in connection with a conference on deeptech and innovation, hosted by Sweden and the European Innovation Council (EIC) in connection with the EU Presidency.

Partners to Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day, which since the start in 2018, has been an exclusive interface between investors and green tech companies, are The Swedish Energy Agency, Swedish Incubators & Science Parks and Cleantech Scandinavia.

“We are pleased to once again be partners to Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day. As many Swedish sustaintech companies are scaling up and making international success, contributing a huge deal to the planet’s climate problems, the opportunity to hold SSVD in connection with this EU Presidency event was perfect” says Verena Adamheit at the Swedish Energy Agency.

Every year, the event features around 30 carefully selected and successful unlisted Sustaintech companies that present their investment cases to major Swedish and International investor panels, and major decision makers.

The SSVD 2023 stage programme will deep dive into the whole energy system and the transition as we make the shift towards many different sources in the same system. There are major challenges ahead and there are many Swedish solutions to these interface problems, ready for scaling. Workshops, presentations and break-out sessions will deal with this theme.

“We are facing rapidly increasing energy costs and at the same time, huge expected increases in energy consumption. This calls for a stable system with innovative solutions, and this is an area where Swedish companies are successful” says Magnus Rehn at Sting, responsible for the stage programme.

How is the industry changing and where are the investment opportunities? Investors are looking for disrupting solutions and SSVD will provide insights, statistics, success cases and companies that show rapid sales growth and have matured beyond seed investment stage – from A round level companies to much larger companies in a variety of Sustaintech sectors.

Boel Swartling, herself an entrepreneur and investor, and initiator to the event together with Sting, will be responsible for selecting the companies in a steadily growing sector. Her analysis will be presented as soon as the company selection is made.
