Big things are happening in Swedish cleantech! During the first week of December 2025, Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day took place in Stockholm and gathered almost 200 people ranging from international and Swedish investors to cleantech companies and Swedish governmental agencies. The Swedish Energy Agency is one of those actors and together with Cleantech Scandinavia, they are launching their first-ever seed-stage accelerator to help Swedish energy companies secure the funding they need to reach their full potential.

We caught up with Sara Ceder, Business Developer at the Swedish Energy Agency, who shared some exciting insights about the program. The team is in the final stages of selecting companies, aiming for a cohort that’s not just innovative, but ready, capable, and hungry to grow. See the full interview with Sara Ceder here!

The interviews with potential candidates took place during Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day in Stockholm (December 1–2), and the final lineup of 6–8 promising startups will be announced soon. The goal is to match smart private investment with public funding so these companies can take their development projects to the next level. The companies we’ve seen so far are strong, ambitious, and totally capable of handling funding responsibly, explains Ceder.

For context, last year the later-stage investment accelerator targeting 30 million SEK was a hit, with the majority of participants securing funding thanks to the program. This accelerator is designed for startups at a slightly earlier stage seeking 5–10 million SEK in investment.

Stay tuned – these are the innovators who could shape the future of energy in Sweden and beyond.
