Gathering Swedish and international investors and Swedish sustaintech companies for six years, Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day is a popular networking hub for sustainable investments. With two new side events, a fully booked Cleantech Tour for investors to sites around Stockholm, and a Masterclass, Fit For Purpose Funding, this year meant a successful expansion of the already popular event with two packed days on the 9th-10th of October. Swedish Energy Agency is the main partner to the event, and Sara Persson, Senior Business Developer International Markets, is very satisfied:

“Sweden, with our dynamic ecosystem for startups and investors, is a global leader in cleantech innovation. Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day is an important arena for us to present the most promising cleantech scaleups. We look forward to welcoming both Swedish and international investors to Stockholm.”

The attendance of international investors is at an all-time high in 2024, and the interest for the Cleantech Tour has been so high that there is a waiting list to attend.

Cleantech Scandinavia, the event organizer this year, is running an investment accelerator that is initiated and financed by the Swedish Energy Agency. The idea of the accelerator was, and is, to support a selected group of companies to improve the way they present their business case to investors, ensuring that the underlying fundamentals are in place, and ultimately to help out to get them in close dialogue with reputable and active investors.

“These are companies that we believe have the potential to become our future large Swedish Cleantech companies, and they will also be presenting at the event” says Sara Persson.

Six out of eight participating companies from the accelerator in the first round have closed investment rounds totaling of over SEK 350M, and term sheets have been signed corresponding to a further SEK 250M+.

For companies selected to Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day, the Fit for Purpose Funding masterclass presents the full spectrum of funding options and requirements available — from equity, debt, and grants to public guarantees and off-take agreements. They will hear directly from finance experts and network with key players from EQT Ventures, Danske Bank, P. Capital, NEFCO, Industriklivet, Klimatklivet, Exportkreditnämnden, and Vinge.

Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day fits really well in the Cleantech Scandinavia and Swedish Energy Agency’s Investor Accelerator. Sara Persson is confident that the extensions of the event will add to Sweden Sustaintech Venture Day, and is looking forward to two exciting and rewarding days this week.
